Discussion for Denominational Leaders
As a free pre-event on the 19th, Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis will lead a conversation for those of us in denominational positions where she will talk about the challenge of creating authentically multicultural congregations, dealing head-on with white privilege and how we as denominational leaders can aid our churches in that vocational calling.
DC Monuments as Theological Texts Tour
This tour will start and end at Smithsonian Station, and will include stops with theological reflection at the WW II Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean Vets Memorial, MLK Memorial, and FDR Memorials. Wear suitable clothing and good walking shoes for a brisk 3.5 mile/3 hour walk, and bring along snacks, water, etc. We'll be filming the experience, so we assume you're willing to participate on camera.

The Symposium will be held at Cedar Ridge Community Church, 2410 Spencerville Road, Spencerville, MD 20868. The Symposium will begin at 7p.m. Friday May 19 and adjourn at 9:30 p.m. It continues on Saturday from 9a.m. until 5p.m. (lunch on your own from 12 to 1).
